Budapest after rain, when the city seems to hold the light a little longer. A tram crosses Liberty Bridge, dissolving into blue and red streaks as the wet rails pull the eye toward Buda. For a few seconds, the traffic, the river and the night fall into the same rhythm. The tram disappears, but its colour remains suspended across the frame, turning an ordinary crossing into something close to magic. Photographed with #Leica in #Budapest, #Hungary.

A few more days of holiday at home, then I’ll be in Venice for a month packed with photography workshops. Several of those days will take me to Burano, where even I have little argument with colour. I’m hoping to see my two friends there again: one black cat and one white cat. I’ll also make time for a visit to @ninfea_burano my favourite cafe and pastry! In Budapest, history is never quite behind you. At Fisherman’s Bastion, the old stone guardians remain in shadow while the city opens beyond the arch. The tower catches the eye first, but it is the figures watching silently from both sides that give the frame its story. This is why I enjoy photographing with a Leica. It stays quiet and encourages me to look for layers, relationships and small tensions inside the scene, rather than simply recording another landmark. That is also how I approach my private Budapest workshops: we explore the city, but more importantly, we learn to read it. Venice does not wait for sunrise to become beautiful. The most interesting light often comes earlier, when the lamps are still glowing, the wet stone reflects every colour and the city has not yet filled with people. This is the moment to work slowly, watch the balance between natural and artificial light, and decide exactly what belongs in the frame.
