📷 Workshop Options
🕰️ 4-Hour Twilight & Sunrise
Watch Budapest awaken under the first light. We start before dawn to capture the quiet beauty of the Danube, the Parliament reflected in the still water, and Fisherman’s Bastion glowing in soft morning tones. As the sun rises, the city slowly comes alive — trams, bridges, and early movement become part of your composition.
Focus: Early light, golden tones, quiet streets, reflections, atmospheric storytelling.
Ideal for: Photographers who love calm, precision, and subtle light transitions.
€550 for up to 2 people
🌇 Sunset, Twilight & Night Photography
Experience Budapest’s transformation from golden hour to the glittering night. We shoot from viewpoints such as the Chain Bridge, Castle Hill, and Gellért Hill, where the lights of trams and cars trace the city’s rhythm. You’ll learn long exposure, balance between ambient and artificial light, and creative composition after dark.
Focus: Golden hour, blue hour, night glow, long exposure, dynamic scenes.
Ideal for: Photographers who enjoy colour, motion, and the city's energy after sunset.
€550 for up to 2 people
🎞️ Black & White & Street Photography
🖤 Black & White Masterclass – Budapest in Monochrome
Private | 10 Hours in 1 Day | €950 Light, shadow, texture, atmosphere. Budapest offers one of the strongest visual stages in Europe for working in black and white. This private 10-hour masterclass is designed to refine how you see, not just how you shoot.
🏛️ Why Black & White in Budapest?
Budapest naturally lends itself to monochrome. The city is built on contrast. Grand architecture against worn textures, soft river light against deep shadows, elegant lines interrupted by raw, human moments.
From the geometry of the Parliament and bridges to the layered streets of Pest, from quiet courtyards to the movement along the Danube, everything simplifies beautifully when colour is removed.
Black and white here is not a stylistic choice. It is a way of seeing the city more clearly.
📸 What You’ll Learn
Seeing in Monochrome. Understanding light, contrast, and tonal relationships before you even raise the camera
Composition Working with structure, negative space, and strong lines that hold an image together
Street Photography Anticipating moments, reading movement, and capturing gesture with intent
Fine Art Approach Framing with the final image in mind, thinking beyond the shot towards a cohesive body of work
Editing & Processing Refining tone, contrast, and mood with a controlled, professional workflow
The session includes practical image review and editing discussions based on what you shoot during the day.
🗓️ The Experience
A fully private 10-hour workshop, shaped around your pace and level
We typically structure the day to follow the light, often working across morning, afternoon, and evening transitions
Budapest offers the flexibility to split the session into two parts if preferred, for example, late afternoon into night, followed by an early morning session ( add Euro 150)
This approach allows us to work with different atmospheres and maximise shooting opportunities
€950 for 1–2 people. Add up to 2 additional participants: €200 per person
🙋♀️ Who This Is For
This is for photographers who want to move beyond simply converting images to black and white and start thinking in it.
Whether you are refining your eye or pushing towards a more personal, coherent body of work, the goal is the same. You leave with stronger images, a clearer process, and a more disciplined way of seeing.
🏆 2 to 5-Day Masterclass: Budapest in Focus
A deep dive into creative and editorial photography with Marco Secchi.
Day 1: Foundation and Calibration
We begin by establishing a strong technical and visual foundation. This includes refining your understanding of light, exposure, composition, and camera control, along with practical use of filters, focus, and long exposures where appropriate. The aim is to build confidence and precision, allowing you to work with clarity and intent.
Day 2: Developing Visual Intent
The second day moves beyond technical execution and focuses on interpretation. We explore how to recognise structure, anticipate moments, and create photographs with purpose rather than reaction. Throughout the day, there is continuous dialogue, feedback, and refinement based on what you produce, helping strengthen both consistency and direction.
Optional Day 3: Extension and Exploration
A third day can be added to deepen the experience. This may be spent continuing to work within Budapest, allowing for further refinement and exploration without additional cost.
Alternatively, we can use the day to work outside the city and explore the Danube Bend, including locations such as Esztergom, Visegrád, and Szentendre. This option includes private transfer and full-day touring.
Extension within Budapest: no additional transfer cost
Extension outside Budapest with VIP private transfer: +€250
