VENICE CARNIVAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 2027
Small Group, Max 6 Photographers

My Venice Carnival 2026 is now SOLD OUT! Email me for last-minute cancellation

Venice Carnival is not a scheduled show. It’s a living, moving theatre. The costumes appear when they want, disappear without warning, and the best photographs happen in the moments between the obvious ones.

That’s why this workshop is designed around the key shooting windows that actually deliver strong images, rather than a rigid “three full days walking around”.

This is a serious photography experience, small group, hands-on guidance, real shooting time, and a clear focus on results.

WHAT THIS WORKSHOP IS

A Venice Carnival street and documentary photography workshop focused on storytelling, atmosphere, timing, and strong portraits in real situations (not staged portrait sessions).
A small-group Venice Carnival photography workshop focused on timing, positioning, portraits, atmosphere, and storytelling. You’ll learn how to work fast when it’s crowded, how to slow down when the scene needs patience, and how to consistently come home with images that look intentional, not accidental.

GROUP SIZE
Maximum 6 participants per group.

TOTAL SHOOTING TIME
Approximately 24 hours of guided photography across 3 sessions.

THE FORMAT (3 SESSIONS, NOT A “CONSECUTIVE TOUR”)
Carnival rewards photographers who show up at the right moments, not those who simply stay out all day.

Each workshop group includes 3 guided sessions scheduled around the most productive windows, typically including:

  1. Dawn and early quiet Venice (best light, best access, best atmosphere)

  2. Peak Carnival energy (costumes, crowds, action, intensity)

  3. A flexible final session (to react to what’s happening, weather, and the strongest opportunities)

Exact meeting points and session timing will be confirmed closer to the dates, based on light, conditions, and where the costumes are naturally gathering.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Are the 3 days consecutive?
The workshop is delivered as 3 guided sessions across the dates of your chosen group. The structure is designed around the best Carnival moments, not a fixed “9am to 5pm tour”.

Will it be crowded?
Yes, in some areas and at some times. That’s part of Carnival. The workshop is built to help you work with the crowds, not fight them, and still create clean, strong images.

Do I need to be an advanced photographer?
No. You need to be comfortable using your camera, but I’ll help you with settings, exposure, focusing, and practical decision-making in the field.

What happens after I book?
Once your deposit is received, your seat is reserved. You’ll receive full joining instructions closer to the workshop dates, including meeting points and session times.
